Adding Interest to Your Living Room

This article from Elle Décor magazine offers some interesting ideas on how to make your cocktail table the star of the show in your living room and goes to show how one piece can really punch up a space visually. I really like the reflective quality of the "ring" table and how the "geometric" table mixes and mingles so well with the more traditional furnishings around it. This all goes to show that eclectic mixes of furnishing can often be the most interesting.
When speaking to prospective clients, especially new clients who have not worked with a designer before, they often have a variety of pertinent questions regarding what the designer will bring to the table that is different and interesting for their project and how you will work together.
Since graduate school, I have been fascinated with the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. His attention to the details of light, scale and use of natural materials which all combine harmoniously to create spaces that bring the outside in.
The foundation of many a great room often starts with a personal, found object. The color palette in this room is amazing and the best part is that he beautiful painting was the inspiration!
